WARNING
-
Improper Installation of the grounding plug can result in the risk of electric shock. When
repair or replacement of the cord or plug is required, do not connect the grounding wire to either flat blade
terminal. The wire with insulation having an outer surface that is green with or without yellow stripes is the
grounding wire.
Extension Cords
Use only a 3-wire extension cord that has a 3-blade grounding plug, and a 3-slot receptacle that accepts the
plug on the pump. Make sure your extension cord is not damaged. When using an extension cord, be sure to
use one heavy enough to carry the current the pump draws. For lengths less than 50 ft, No. 16/3 AWG
extension cord shall be used. An undersized cord can result in a drop in line voltage, loss of power and
overheating.
OPERATION NOTES
Do not block or restrict pump discharge. Excessive back pressures will stress and shorten the Service life of
pump diaphragms and may lead to pump damages. Bleed excess air volume into atmosphere with a valve.
Failure to observe Proper Ventilation instruction may not cause pump to automatically shut down for thermal
protection, however, continuous Operation in higher temperature ranges can excel the rate of aging and
deterioration of pump diaphragms and other key components.
In case of unusual noise or odor from the pump, turn off the power immediately and consult your nearest pump
representative or contact Alita Service department for assistance.
The pump surfaces can become hot during Operation. Do not touch pump surfaces until power is turned
off and pump has cooled down.
Always operate the pump in fully assembled state.
MAINTENANCE NOTES
Periodic pump maintenance is required for reliable continuous Operation. Any maintenance of the pump
other than those described within this manual must be performed by an authorized Service facility.
Air Filter
Air Filter Pad under the filter cover should be cleaned every 3 to 6 months. Remove and gently wash the filter
pad in mild, soapy water then rinse thoroughly. Allow filter pad to dry completely before reinstalling.
